although this forum has plenty of interesting stuff, it lacks a bit on the ghosts and spectres side. just wondering, what do people think about them? has anyone seen any compelling evidence for their existence? personally i think that theres less likelihood of ghosts being around than ufos etc but id be interested to know what others thought...

But on a serious note, yes I have seen ghosts, when I was a child, and spoke to them.
Something UFO-ish when I a child appeared over our house (144 Wigan Rd,
Atherton, Lancs.) it was hugh and I mean Huge. With flickering lights, a humming sound was heard. The next day I was took to the doctors with burns on one side of my face and was very ill for weeks. Vomiting, hearing other peoples thoughts, making things move at will. Just after this happened, my Dad was on the radio talking of ghosts and the like.

At this very moment I'm waiting for hypnosis by a specialist to try and recall this memory, she (Gail) is the head of her department that deals with this sort of thing. If and when it does come out, it will be written in my book I've been writing.

When I was a child I used to have bad nightmares, sometimes being draged out of bed by my ankles by the lower elemental's (forest spirits of the pagan mythology). I used to scream but no one would here me, on a few
occassions Monks would appear speaking a language I don't and didn't understand. Then the creatures would go away, leaving me releaved. I
would thank them and ask each one there names, but I was told, I would know that answer when I was older.
They sounded normal to me as sounds go.

When I had the experience at (144 Wigan Rd, Atherton) with this huge thing in the sky, they did not talk, but used telepathy to communicate with me.
This will be what will be put in my book.
As to a date? Who knows, only time will tell. And don't think time tells the truth, cause it don't and it can be manipulated by others.

I've had many experiences all my life, I've been told I have a very free spirit, which is due to my child abuse, but thats another story.

I can remember one time just before my dad went on the radio talking about ghost's
and such. This old man used to come and see me on about three occasions. The
first time he told me my dad was working in his house and he wasn't very happy
about it. Basically this house my dad worked in became a tyre fitting garage after
this old man had died. It was a big building and I mean big, from what my child
mind can remember (as children see things bigger than they actually are) so to speak.

So in the morning I told my dad about the experience, which he sort of shugged off.
The following weekend my dad took me to work with him, this I can remember as I had a butty-box for my dinner, which I had never had before, as this excited me.
Anyway I was in the house doing my thing (as kids do). I went up stairs and after a
short while this old man came up to me from behind my back, telling me to tell them all
to get out of his house, now I remembered seeing this old man before when I turned round to see who it was. I went straight to my dad and told him that I had seen this old man again. I told him what he had said, at which my dad took me to see his boss (Arthur).
Him and my dad where looking at each other, I thought they thought I was not telling the truth. Nothing more was said about it.

A few nights later this ghost came back to visit me, I remember going down stairs with
him and standing in front of the type writer. Within the next few seconds the type
writer seemed to have a mind of its own. In the morning my dad asked me to come down stairs, by which he shown me this letter which had been typed by someone. He asked if I had done it or knew anything about it as it was signed at the bottom by my first name in typed letters. I told him what had happened the night before. He told me the letter had said that everyone had to get out of this ghost's house (garage) otherwise it would be burned to the ground. Now at this time I could not read or write, which left my dad somewhat confused. Anyway within the week or so, the house (garage) was burned to the ground in the middle of the night. I remember my dad coming home early one day to say the house (garage) had been burnt to the ground the night before. He gave me a strange look and told me to go to my room. That night the ghost came back to see me, telling me he would not be coming to see me again. In all the time I saw this ghost, he gave me no fear at all, he always had a nice smile, which gave me comfort. He asked me to tell my dad he had visited me for the last time, which I did.

Anyone else had any strange happenings?

I think everyone experiences things they cant explain.. some put it to imagination, some try to rationalize it and other take it at face value....

Im a mixture of all 3 depending on what happens but Im not surprised that you are writing a book G'man, as with all the experiences you have had I would need to tell people about them to help me understand if nothing else!

I agree with you entirely m8, and yes i do need to talk about it, just for understanding purposes. I wanted to talk about it when I was put into care
as a child, but was told, I would be locked up in a looney bin, so shut up and keep things to yourself.... Which I did.

I'm quite surprised I haven't been flamed for what I have written, but fck-it i don't care.
Also I would like to thank those that have left reply's, without flaming me.
It wasn't my fault I experienced these things, but I did, and I had to deal with them and still do.
I have loads of experiences to tell, and in time I will, if of course there is interest?
