Help viper install prob/probs PLEASE HELP

Ok installed

Viper Comes up, Disk spins all acts normal

Ok but it just doesnt wanna boot backups, it will go region free the whole disk spin thing works but then it seeks and i get the orignal GC bios screen saying

AN ERROR HAS OCCURED PLEASE REFER TO THE GC MANUAL

It did once boot a backup though! but wont now :Z

What are the Solder points like on this chip can average joe solder this with no probs ?

yea it takes about a min to solder it, the points are space out and easy

Its the screws that take the longest

if you've had some solder experience and have a decent iron then yeh.. it's the easiest out of all the recent consoles (just)

but if by "average joe" you mean anyone. then i would have to say no.
people who use soldering irons oftern forget how hard it can be to get right. i've seen some dreadfull attempts where it looks like they've set fire to the board then thrown solder at it.
but as long as you know about tinning wires, and remember that you shouldn't leave the iron on for more than 2 seconds. then you should be ok.

If you are 100% sure that it isn't the install then:

1) check if your gamecube is a DOL-1XX, if so wait for next cobra bios
2) use high quality media (ritekG04)
3) adjust laser pot

Where is the pot is it on the underside of the board:nowords:. Cause i cant open 1 of the screws on the heatsink so thats out of the question

Its a DOL-001 and ive tried every type of media ive got and it wont read nada
