Seriously, after the flop of the N64, everything from Nintendo, I have read about and thought "nahhhh, yer alreet ta, I'll give it a miss." I reckon this next effort from Nintendo is gonna go down like a lead balloon like the rest of em. It doesn't have the spec of the Sony/MS big boys, and will have a handful of addictive titles, but just not enough.... as per usual. Is this just another one for the Nintendo fanboys or will it prove to be a revelation in modern day gaming? Discuss.

I don't care either, I only really have interests in the Sony range as it develops. I don't even think that I have seen a Gamecube.

It may not have the power of the other consoles but thats the whole point of it! It's not ment to be a graphical power house and only make things look better. One of the big selling points of it is going to be the Wii Mote which is gonna be awesome in some titles.

Also I dont think its ment to be your main console (for me anyway). 360 + Wii = Price of a PS3

i think the only game ive ever played on a nintendo machine (other than a gameboy) was mario kart 64.

I totally agree. Nintendo is trying to do something new that will hopefully improve gaming. To knock it down before it is even released is crazy. If you look at the ps3, it is doing nothing new at an incredibly high price.

Why, because the Wii is something different, the novelty may wear off after a short while but it is different and i'm willing to give it a go.

there was the same negetivity when the DS was announced, everyone laughed, ho ho 2 screens. wtf, nintendo have lost it etc etc and look how its changed handheld gaming, japan is currently seeing a 30% raise in the market which is being put down to the DS's success.

The market at the moment is so stale, all the 360 has is endless shoot em ups and rehashed xbox titles. the ps3 will have the same. boring boring boooooring!

The DS has come a long way from when it was initially released. I think it's a fantastic bit of kit. The introduction of Opera next month will open it's potential even more.

Well I will definately be buying one after I bin my PS2 and XBOX, two fingers up to MS and Sony for trying to con me into buying a console with better graphics.

At least Nintendo know what games are meant to be, and so they should. Unlike MS and Sony, these guys where there in the early eighties defining video games.

I never owned a N64 or Game Cube, but will be getting a Wii for sure.

I'm sick of first person shooter crap and the lack of originality in games. At least Nintendo are trying to take gaming to the next level. Let me tell you, realistic graphics do not make for good gameplay - but the media tell you it does and you believe the crap.

The PS2 and XBOX still have life left in them, but they will tell you it is out of date.

I've loved Nintendo since I was young and I think this could go either way, look at the rate the DS is selling, they can't even keep it on shelves!

I've already got a 360 gonna pick up a PS3 and then a Wii when they come out.

Gimmicks, things like having 2 screens, touch screens, having an 8cm DVD drive... Even my first NES came with a Rob the robot.

I'll admit that I know nothing about their sales, just from my observations, the people I know own playstations, PSP's, Xboxes etc, but no nintendo's.

Not me, I've only ever owen an XBOX, and the only thing that sold that to me was the home brew and what can be done with it.

I did used to love Streets or Rage and Mario Kart. If I had to choose a next gen console out of PS3, 360 or Wii, the 360 would be the one keeping me up all night

having 2 screens/touch screen isnt a gimmick, the DS is a fantastic machine and alot of the games use the screens to great effect. the DS must be one of the best selling games machines of all time proving its far more than a gimmick.
The fact that the DS is selling more than the psp in most places is proof that people dont just want better gfx.

The 8cm drive wasnt a gimmick, they never sold it as being better than standard dvd, it was mainly a way to slow down piracy.

The ROB was a stack of shite i'll agree tho, but that was 20 years ago. thats hardly anything compared to the actual real innovations nintendo have introduced which are now standard in every games machine available today.

since neither of the other 2 are available, its not really a difficult decision is it
