Here's how you use it.

You patch the ISO with the .exe that came in the download.
Install the CIOS on your Wii
Install DVDX. Go to Advance and choose 249
Install Wii Loader
Burn the patched ISO with ImgBurn
Run the loader

It's time for another exclusive video from TehSkeen. This time our feature presentation is a demonstration of the work in progress Nintendo Wii Backup Loader coded by the infamous and often controversial hack1ng guru Waninkoko. Yeah, read the first sentence again if you're at a loss for words.

The ISO Loader works like this. You create a legal backup of a game you own, convert the ISO file with a special program then burn it. After this, you copy over the ISO Loader to the Homebrew Channel and run it. It will boot the legal backup. Pretty simple. Oh, and no modchip is required. However, it does require you to have

This is a unprecedented moment in Nintendo Wii hack1ng history as is probably going to cause a massive movement in the scene. Too bad Nintendo didn't take Bushing's advice on blocking the method of doing this. Maybe they will now? Of course, this sort of thing isn't condoned by the "general" homebrew scene and when it's released will ultimately lead to some turmoil.

TehSkeen doesn't support piracy. We don't index releases, we don't spread torrents, we don't run contests to dump VC/Wiiware games. Heck, we don't host any tools to inject WAD files with. Waninkoko's motivation for creating the ISO Loader is unknown, but it is illegal and morally wrong to use it for booting illegal copies of games you don't own.

With that all said and done, what do you all think of this milestone in the Nintendo Wii scene? Do you support the project? Do you think it'll force Nintendo to take some sort of action against the "scene"? Oh, please keep out all of the "it's fake" BS in your replies. It's real. Period.

Installing CIOS

-- This is a Custom IOS, IOS amended to add new
features not available in the IOS official.

This IOS has been created to be used only with software
home.

The Custom IOS is installed as IOS249 and not modify any other
IOS so it is safe to install.


[Requirement]:

-- The WAD file "IOS37-64-v2070.wad" original.


[Installing]:

-- Copy the file "IOS37-64-v2070.wad" the root of an SD card.
-- Insert the SD card in the Wii.
-- Run the installer.

If you play a USA game on a UK box, doesn't it screw it up? Or only if does a firmware upgrade from the wrong region...

hypocrites - they are pissed cus of the sponsorship money they will lose cus of the wii chip advertisers

i know how this shit works. this marks the beginning of the end for the wii chips tbh. soon fully patched games will be working with no loader ala dreamcast.

Confirmed working using an un-modded wii & Mario.Kart.PAL-MOMENT

Copy CIOS36_rev5-64-v1042.wad into wad folder of your homebrew SD card.
Download DVDx, unzip & copy to Apps folder of your homebrew SD card.
Create DVD-backup folder in your Apps folder of homebrew SD card, copy dvd-backup.dol to it. (remember to rename dvd-backup.dol to boot.dol)

Take .iso you want to use and patch with backup creator.

On your Wii boot into Homebrew Channel, go to Wad Manager and install CIOS36_rev5-64-v1042.wad, exit Wad Manager.
Install DVDx (if uninstall option is available, uninstall first, then go back), go advanced, install IOS249, then exit.

I rebooted my Wii here as dvd-backup wouldn't work without.

Turn on Wii, insert patched disk, homebrew channel, dvd-backup, run ISO

My patched ISO wouldn't burn with IMGburn, i had to burn with Nero. The ISO it creates is invalid, i choose to ignore the block error and burn anyway, game works fine
** I know it's obvious but burn the created partition.iso as your disk **

As a side note FMV is very skippy, this is due to the drive spinning at 3x, loading times are also increased.......

Games from other regions seem to work on any Wii, you just need to have cables capable of outputing the correct signal..... VGA adapter seems to be the most compatable.
