Is my Wii Dead???

Hi guys looking for some advice,

I have a pal wii with wiikey installed everything was working great until my daughter and her friend tried to play wii music (ntsc i think) and installed the firmware update, now my wii won't play any backup games and i can't access the wii setting page, also sometimes i get a wii error message "wii file system corrupt please contact customer support".

Any help or advice would be great,

First need to know if you have homebrew channel installed.

no nothing installed except wiikey

There was a guide on how to downgrade the firmware if you put the new one on and wanted to install wads again. It may also be able to downgrade you to the correct region but i'm not sure i can't find the page at the moment. The other way would be to wait for a newer pal game to come up so that it upgrades to the newer pal region but that could take a while.

does the main channels screen load up then? sounds like a semi brick if so, updating with a newer PAL game will sort that out although I dont know why its stopped playing copies.

Yes you get the main wii menu and it will play original games and some copies (Only NTSC games) thats why i think i have installed the wrong firmware update (NTSC onto PAL Wii) the main problem is it wont play any pal backups and i can't get access to the wii settings page when i try i get the opera webpage brower error.

download and burn the selfboot homebrew channel installer iso. see if that will boot if it does, install hbc and use something like anyregion changer to reinstall the correct region files

AnyRegion Changer will also install System Menu 3.2 and the appropriate IOS for any of the three main regions.

try and do it the other way then burn ntsc zelda and do the twighlight hack method

its not the wiikey thats the problem, its the opera error when i try and go into the wii setting page.
