if its pal, it should be ok anyway, you can always boot it thought the homebrew chan if you have that installed to bypass the update.

wouldnt bother though, you're not missing much.

I did, its fine here, but I dont have any homebrew stuff on there.

Agree with 909, this is one seriously shite game, even the young kids were bored shitless with it in minutes!

its not for kids at all, it has incredible potential but I just find it really hard to get into. Theres no real gameplay objectives other than learning how to play the instuments which is very hard to do. Im sure if you put enough time and effort into that you could really perform some impressive pieces but for the casual button masher, its not really much fun.

does it? in what way? I mean what challenge is there really in strumming a guitar and not having to press any keys? Or just shaking the controllers to behave like a piano?

The only item I can see with potential is the drums, but maybe I'm missing something!

well if you flail your arms around aimlessly you get a meaningless noise, turn it off and say its shit, like 99% of the internet seems to have done you wont get much from it. with practice you can control what notes are played and therefore play real music. obviously its not a concise as a real instument but its far more in depth than say Guitar hero, which to be honest I would have prefered it if it was.

Its not really supposed to be a 'challenge' as in difficulty, its supposed to be an easy way to create music. there are no objectives or highscores and so on.

theres a similar game called nodame carnival, based on some japanese anime series and i think this is more like what i was expecting, a scrolling bar going right to left with prompts on when to press keys or simulat strumming or whatever and scoring based on how accurate you do this. Although I know Nintendo would rarely just take an existing concept and refine it, especially one so popular at the mo. I think in this case they have thought a little too out of the box.
