call of duty modern warfare 2 help!

help, i seem to be stuck in a loop! i have burned both the game and the activate iso.
i put the activate iso in and it brings up the to play dvd in xbox 360 ........ then i put in this copy of modern warfare, it boots ok, but then says it requires to install an update - i hit yes, and the update seems to install, but then reboots. each time i try to use this copy of modern warfare i still get the 'update required' nag, but can't get past that - i install it again, it reboots, put activate iso in, get the 'play in xbox360', then put this disk in again only to be asked to install update again.
any help would be much apreciated.

are you banned?
Have you tried not taking the update? Usally that means you cant get on live with the game if you dont take the update, untill you do take it.

your stuck in the update loop m8, there is others on here posted they had the same thing

the ONLY way to do it is to go online to get the update, and if your banned then your fucked unless you can find the update online and do it via disk or usb flash drive

ah right - i've done some searching but couldn't find any answers - i must've overlooked them.
no, i'm not banned, not been on xbl for a few years. i've always been able to accept the updates via disk, but will try and do an update online.

if i don't accept the update, it just returns to the dahboard.

UPDATE: brilliant, works a treat - got the update off the newsgroups and updated via usb memory stick.
