Hi there,

I've been putting together some up to date info for the people on here, just need it proof reading, cos i'd hate for any of the info to hurt a Wii! So if i put a draft up in abit, could you pm me if there's anything stupid or stuff that should be in there? I've been looking for mistakes for a while now and it's getting blurred

So if the Mods could let this run for a couple of days, i can ammend as required, then hopefully a sticky?

yeah I'll have a glance over it too, I've done a few 4.2s recently so I know a few of the ins and outs. I wrote a few guides for various things years ago and its always a worry if you write something that could potentially nuke peoples systems if you get it wrong.

Aimed at the guys that have softmodded a couple of Wii's,

In step (2) where we create a fakesigned IOS36, recently i have been using dop ios mod as the process is more automated than that of trucha bug restorer mod.
However dop ios mod keeps getting more features added and therefore not as road tested.
For example in V11.3 / V11.4 (fixed in V11.5)i have just found out there is a bug with the syscheck feature, causing channels not to load. Although i don't use this feature in the tutorial i'd hate for anyone to have hassle by using it.
So where do you draw the line?

for me the manual way would be better.

ok its is slightly longer but at least you are guaranteed a working method that completely eliminates the risk of a problem.

or in the least, if you stick with dopios, make it very clear that the version suggested works but other versions are not tested with this tutorial.

Superb mate, even added the simple steps where I went wrong like hand controllers not working.. Excellent stuff. Might even adventure and do another one..lol. I'm gussing if wii sports resort requires 4.1 and there is an older version present it is ok to go on the net and upgrade first?? Then when finished modding adjust in hacks to disable online updates?? Thanks Jon

About Wii sport resort, it doesn't need 4.1 to work, it's that the 4.1 update fixed an error to do with keep replaying the intro video after loading wiiware games - so really doesn't affect usb loaders.

Zippeyrude, the patching ios36 part seems to work very, it's just that there trying to make dopiodmod a 'all-in-one' kinda app, that will be great when they get it sorted, its the add on features that i'm not to sure about, inparticular the syscheck.

Did you see the bit in post 16 about not using syscheck on dopiosmod v11.3 & v11.4? it's an extra feature that don't work, fixed in v11.5. just so you know.
