Any one else really hate Super Monkey Ball

I might be on my own here but I'm going nuts.

I used to think I was OK at games - completed some - gave up on some others - but never felt totally humiliated and crap until now. I bought my US Cube with 4 games in December and only recently went back to Monkey Ball due to all the fuss about Monkey Ball 2 to see if I misjudged it, but no I didn't - it's no fun at all.

I am not on about the mini games here, which are great - but the main game is totally impossible to me. I can just about get two thirds of the way through the normal level game if I am lucky. Usually I lose all my lives on floor 15. The Expert level is clearly just a joke (isn't it?). I find it very hard to control.

Please can anyone tell me if they found the main game to be too frustrating to be enjoyable. I've been playing games for over 20 years now and maybe i'm too old for this stuff. Please someone tell me I'm not alone. I'd rather shoot myself than play Monkey Ball 2.

LOL I know what you mean, I got so far too and then kept on fall off again and again...

It's now currently sitting on my shelf, pity really as I were enjoying it until then.

2 is better i got pissed off with 1 but 2 is pure genius. i nearly completed itlast world and only 5 levels left!!! then bad boon is goin DOWN!!

Thanks chaps, its not just me then - I am still OK to play (other) games for a while yet.

I'm glad to hear about 2 - but for my sanity I think i'll leave it for now.
