Default Best place to buy US GC?

Obviously, what with freeloader now becoming little more than a farce, some of us UK and european gamecube owners will be looking to buy a US console. therage.com have consoles for $149.99, but with shipping to the UK, the whole thing works out around £140, which I think is pretty good. Just wondering if anyone knows of a cheaper place to buy US cubes, taking into account shipping costs?

I think you may pick up some nasty customs charges if you order from The Rage so you may wish to consider places Goblin or New Age consoles as these are UK based as so therefore you're safe from any additional charges

Only thing with goblin is tho, you'll still be waiting for the freeloader to be released as they dont post items seperatly, they wait for all items to be released before they ship...

well, I wouldn't buy a US cube AND a copy of freeloader, so there shouldn't be a wait!

They DO have them bundled together, yes, but you can buy them separately, as someone mentioned, for £109. Look here for proof

Well, I ordered my "refurbished" GC from Goblin last night, I'll let you all know about it when I get it. Looks like I might finally be able to play my copies of Mario, Res Evil and Monkey Ball 2

Also, does anyone know what power supply (watts) the US cube uses?Jjust wanna check before I get a stepdown, as I don't wanna overload it or pay too much for one that is way better than I need.

Well the watts are a multiplication of amps x voltage = 3.5x240.

So you're looking at 840 watts. A step down to that would be expensive. You're better off buying a 12v 3.5 amp power supply and swapping the cable from the US PSU.

As a temporary measure, if you have an old PC knocking about you can use the PSU out of that.
