Anyone know if the new xboxs are more reliable?

Just wondering am going to go and buy my 3rd 360 just for the use of xbox kinect mainly as after my previous xbox woes i decided to get a PS3 instead.

My question is does anyone know how reliable the new 4gb xbox is? also how reliable is the elite?

made me laugh that one ha ha, no blu-ray, they did start the HD War, but lost out to blu-ray.

You can get the old xbox HD Player and you can still get many titles on ebay but not new ones

Dont need blu ray when you can download the films off xbox live cheaper than buying the discs ;-)

The only real improvement on the new XBox360 is the cooling system appears to be quieter and the shiny black casing makes it look better.

Other than that it's practically the same - It apparently still can suffer from the RROD or RDOD. (Red Dot of Death).

Yes it got the red dot of death - just came up with an error message then wouldn't turn back on. They prob are more reliable let's face it they couldn't be worse, just bad luck I guess. It's funny cos everything my brother in law buys breaks. Even his kids xbox lol

over time they seem to have gradually improved, im sure the first shipments must all have died now so if you are comparing a release machine to a brand new slim one, there should be significant improvements, plus its a lot quieter.

I was like that with the release ps3 sold it because I had years and bought a ps3 slim had it 2 minutes and it was goosed well gutted

Sound advice 909 might go for the slim and wait for the lt+ firmware for that drive. I think some of it is down to luck Braymonds 4gb console died after 2 days that's what worries me lol.

I buy a new one do firmware on drive and then it goes faulty I would be gutted lol as no warranty

My brother in laws luck with electronics is legendary so I wouldn't read too much into it. This year I have repaired two of his tv s , a pc and his iPod dock . Not kidding .

Well yesterday i took the plunge and bought the 4gb with kinect. spent all last night playing it with friends and now feel rough and sore as fook at the same time lol. Definitely better the the Wii by miles. Might bed it in before thinking of flashing the drive. just incase
