Default Wiped my ext HD for my Jtag

I was trying to sort out my jtag and accidently reformatted my external hd whilst updating to the latest dash, (dont ask me how or why)

so basically i have lost all my files/backups etc so the jtag is not going to work, and i dont know how to re install it all.

Should be easy enough to do over the net mate - skype/msn etc.

Just burn a cd with xexmenu on it, boot that from the dash, then follow the guides for the various programs to to set them up (Freestyle, DashLaunch etc) however you want.
You can also run games off the HD just using xexmenu as long as the games are extracted onto the HD (can't be an iso as Fat32 has 4gb file size limit).

There are loads of guides on here and xbs (and google) that will help you through.
In fact lemme get some links and I'll post em back for some tutorial videos of setting it up that you could follow step by step...

If that is too techy for you, if you cover the postage both ways mate I'll sort it out and send back.

    edit:
I'm assuming your bloke put you on the new Kinect Dash (12611)..?

Here are the vids to follow, though you don't need to do any of the NAND flashing stuff as you said it has already been done, all you have lost is the files on the hard drive.
Will be worth connecting to the xellous httpd server to resave your NAND/Keys etc and keep them safe.
Also, near the end you don't need the FSDIndexer as the new FSD auto updates through the dash itself, but thats in part4 iirc, so deal with that when you get there.

Otherwise, start viewing around 9mins of Part 2, where he is loading xexmenu (though the other stuff is good to watch to learn from).

I'd say watch them through a few times before attempting to follow it so you understand what's going on, it's all described pretty well.
    If in doubt - ASK!

Yep that'll work, but your gonna need xexmenu on cd to run it, unless he set it to boot straight to FSD (rather than the normal dash?)

As you can get in touch with him, he's the man to ask as he knows how he configured it in the first place, theres so many options/configs that achieve the same result I could be here all day.

If he hasn't used Dashlaunch, then get xexmenu on a cd, boot it, then point it to your usb hard drive and run FSD from there...all the rest (ie. in those vids) is just configuration and setup.

If he has used Dashlaunch, get launch.ini into the root of your usb, edit it to fit your paths (ie default = usb:\FSD\freestyle.xex etc) and your box should then autoboot into freestyle (or xexmenu or whatever you set in the .ini file)

All the programs can be found on xbins - google for autoxbins/easyxbins.

Good stuff, he must have the launch.ini on your internal (M$) hard drive using default fsd folder names.

As I said, he knows best as he's the one who set it up

    Good luck!

yeah its all back to normal now, i am just having trouble getting the freestyle dash v2 to recognise my backups on ext hd, they are on the root of the drive in a folder named /games just like before but they dont show up? i have tried selecting that folder in settings where it says it is there but as soon as i save the location it dissapears...

    any ideas?

Have you extracted the games onto the hard drive?
What is your folder structure on the drive?

In FSD you can choose how "deep" the scan looks (how many folders), I think the default is 2, so you might need to up this depending how your folders are organised.

edit the gamepaths, save and press the right thumbstick in and make sure it finishes scanning for titles
