Celtic manager Neil Lennon was attacked at Tynecastle during the Clydesdale Bank Premier League game against Hearts after Gary Hooper had put the visitors two goals ahead.
Before the game could restart a fan clambered from the Hearts section of the main stand and made a beeline for the Celtic boss who was on the touchline, leading to an intervention by police and stewards after the fracas ended and the supporter was taken away by police.

Trouble ensued in the Celtic section of the stadium with fans appearing to fight with police and stewards.
Former Northern Ireland boss Lennon has been in the headlines regularly this season for incidents on and off the field.
Brought to earth: Bodies rush in to halt the attack
He was involved in a controversy in November over a rejected penalty claim - against Hearts at Tynecastle - for which he later received a touchline ban for his comments.
In January a package addressed to him containing bullets was intercepted at a sorting office in Country Antrim.

More shit from a shit league..
Watched a bit of the game trying to work out wht happend.
Getting silly up there now, with religous issues boiling over..
Imo its becouse celtic and rangers are so poor, they need each other to vent there anger on..
Not a big football fan and don't really favour either side.
I don't think this sort of stuff helps football though, gives it a very bad name. A lot of arguments and fights kick out in Glasgow due to this. It's something we informally check for when recruiting certain staff.
Being honest though, the guy doesn't help himself at times.
Can't stand the Cnut !
Whether you like him or not you can't condone that behaviour
Lennon is a very odious little man, but this is disgraceful. FFS its football, and whilst its a very emotional sport, and tempers regularly flair, this sort of behaviour has to be stamped on really quickly, and very hard.
Lennon's persona oozes with aggression and comtempt. He plays a big part in the hatred directed towards him. He didn't really come out of that encounter looking like an Angel now did he ? I feel sorry for his family more than anyone.

what do you want him to do, run off and cry?He didn't really come out of that encounter looking like an Angel now did he ?
I like how he's cowering like a bitch till the guys on the ground then when he's held down he turns into big Arnie.
He will end up getting supporters killed with his carry on up here.
I actually feel abit sorry for Celtic supporters that he represents them and their club.
Don't. Just you support your own club instead of having such a great interest in mine.
And, what exactly is his "carry on" that will get supporters killed? You have the whole internet at your fingertips so find something about his "carry on" to justify that.
I actually expected better from you but it just goes to show.

Why would i want to prove anything i know the guys an arsehole.
You can go back and forward on this all day trying the poor Lenny the Victim stuff but that wont change my mind.
I'd be more concerned about the innocent Hearts fans hit with seats thrown by the Celtic supporters.

Just adds to the whole pathetic pantomime that is present day football.. corruption at the highest level, no respect on the field, continual cheating now part of a teams strategy and fans who like to hit players and managers!
What a beautiful game!
I see the SPL is still living up to it's reputation as a Sunday Pub League.
