Attention Netflix Launches in UK & IE

Hi allLooks like Netflix has just launched in the UK & IE today. £5.99 per month for unlimited streaming is not bad at all, looks like they have a fair amount of content too.Can sign up for a free month on the website.
Works on PC/Mac, 360, PS3, Wi, iOS, Android but no Apple TV yet Just noticed the Lovefilm have announced a £4.99 streaming only package also. So thats £11.99 per month for both, worth it?Was just saying only yesterday how IceFilms has made me think twice about getting Netflix or LovefilmCheersScottio

Just had browse on the website and it has a truly awful selection of movies. Hopefully with the size of the company they will add more as time goes on and be worth a switch from love film but at the moment there is not chance.

I've signed up for a free month to test for a colleague at work and my first impressions is what a god awful selection to choose from, it could be the quickest trial in history!

I've been looking forward to testing Netflix after hearing great things about it but those films are a joke! Who would pay for that shite?!

Seems a better selection than LoveFilm. Hopefully they will keep adding to it - if not then their foray into the UK is gonna fall flat on it's arse.

i tried lovefilm streaming and found the service good but the selection awful.

The Netflix service is a bit more mobile friendly and has a much better selection of content, but still not great.

I've signed up for the free trial just in case it gets better, and have set a reminder to cancel it before the month is up.

It can't be worse than lovefilm surely? That lasted no more than 10 mins on my ps3. Terrible, terrible selection.

just signing deals as they go i think HD is the big thing over lovefilm and the amount of devices that you can watch from start watching something at home on your xbox finish on the train on your ipad/iphone/android device right from where you left off

and they have firefly....in HD FFS

there's a fair few series' that I've meant to catch up with that are on there so I think I'll give it at least the first month. I know I could download them but I'm happy to stream tbh, just wish streaming worked on my PlayBook. iPad it is then...

It was fast enough on my XBox last night and yes it does resume where you left off so was trying a program here at work to test and when i fired it up on XBox it resumed..now that is a nice feature.

HD seemed ok about 7 secs to start streaming a HD film, quality was pretty good as well, it's just the limited choice for me.

I'm actually quite impressed. The resume on any device from where you left off is exactly what I want from a service of this type.

My iPad is getting some use from me for once. Normally it's just the missus using it.

only thing i can see missing from my US account is that allows you to add things you find to a list but that does not seem to happen on the UK one?

The answer is 3 devices simultaneously I played Pirates of the Caribbean on my PS3 and Torchwood on PC and Expendables on iPad, I then tried to play Doctor Who on my XBox and it said account in use, so I killed the iPad movie and Doctor Who sprang to life on PC. Not bad really for £5.99 a month?? Especially if the selection gets better!

    Thanks to chesser
