    Advice Wot Graphics card?

About 9 months ago we brought a HD7950 (for £250) which generally has been quite good... until it went tits up the other day. When I sent the card back they just refunded us £220 (which I suppose £30 isn't bad for 9 months of card use).

So anyway, we now have £220 to pick another card but we are surprised to see almost a year on and prices and choice are exactly the same!

So what card would you recommend atm? (we don't mind chipping in more money into the pot... but not silly amounts).

Do you specifically only want an ATI graphics card or are you willing to go nvidia?

If you go for the 660ti try to get the phantom edition or FTW+ they offer a bit more power and efficiency

Fuck... forgot to say, we run a triple screen (1080p) setup if that makes a difference.

All of the GTX series support Multi screens not sure about the ATI ones
The 660ti by itself supports up to 4 monitors

The newer ATI cards are pretty good and can support multiple monitors with eyefinity. I myself would get something like the 660ti or the 670 as they are great powerhouses. Or you just could just get another 7950 if it served you well.

Any reason not to go with another 7950? Mine still offers great performance, even on the latest games.

Dude, I have just bought a Gigabyte 650Ti 2GB and works fine on my PCI-E v2 Mobo. It should work on all v2 motherboards, it just drops the data transfer speed to v2. Maybe you have a dud graphics card....

Will pci express 3.0 x16 card work in pci 2.0 x16 slot?

Yes they work, and for now there is no performance increase in 3.0 so there will be no performance hit, but some say that in future some motherboard updates "may" increase the 3.0 slot speed for graphics card, but for now there will be no performance hit since there is no performance gain for 3.0...

Thanks for not posting spam or irrelevant junk, but I think it's safe to say MsDG will have purchased a card long enough ago to make this post useless, and dragging up old threads without reason is bad form on most forums.

    Thanks to Over carl
