PC Zoombies - DayZ ported to ARMA3 engine

Looks like some enterprising devs have ported DayZ mod over to ARMA3. If you've not had a chance to play ARMA3 yet then I recommend you do, the engine is superb, so can't wait to try out DayZ in this engine.

Well, you gotta love modders. DayZ was one of the best mods for ArmA 2, and we cannot wait for its standalone version. However, some people decided to port this stunning mod to Arma 3 and name it Zoombies. Before criticizing them, know that they pay full respect to DayZ and they are not trying to gain popularity over Rocket’s work. As the team stated, this is just an Arma 3 port of DayZ and nothing more.

What’s interesting here is that Zoombies is reported to be running better than DayZ in ArmA 2. Well, this should not surprise us – as ArmA 3′s engine has been further improved and optimized – however it still proves our claims about the performance of that engine when it was used in some older titles of Bohemia.

Those interested can download the mod from
. Do note that you will need a copy of both ArmA 2 and 3 in order to play it.

    Enjoy!

is this a full port over or is it partial?, i was reading lost month that this is realy buggy like you cant eat or drink yet, so you die easy.
i play dayz & dayz breaking point alot & love it to bits, i play arma 3 too & i must admit this looks as good as standalone (it should do its almost the same engine).

I've not had a chance to install it yet, will download it over the weekend and give it a go for sure.

What's the deal with the BETA? Is it acceptably functional and playable. What is it like?

€34.99 for the BETA and then access to the full game when it's released it says on their site. Never played an Arma game before, mostly in to BF3. I guess this is more like a super realistic sim?

Yeah this is definitely not BF3, it's a very different game, very tough but great fun and rewarding too, I only got it on the hope that there'd be a DayZ conversion for it And yes, the beta will change to final once out.
