god almighty, why lol they give out the passwords and they will release the map next week I think anyway lol but nice in the meantime
lol i'm saving that clip for ever! best shot i've done lol gotta love the bolt actions
is it just me or did you take out that helicopter at the end with one shot??
lol it wasnt me mate, only looks like me. Pretty sure some other guy was firing at it, I was only hoping to get in a lucky shot
I think the caspain borders servers have gone now
tried to play the open beta - i cant even set the game to fullscreen without a nvidia driver crash :-/
When i start the beta its goes fine then when I start to actually play it goes into windowed mode for some reason so have to press Alt+Enter to get it to go full screen again. Other than that plays great on my GTX580.
Did you download the beta drivers for BF3? I didn't and it wouldn't let me start the game so had to download them to play.
When you go to options screen have you ticked the fullscreen checkbox? That would cause it to load in windowed mode if it wasn't checked.
Yep had that box ticked right from the start. Goes into windowed mode every time it the maps ends and starts the new one. Just strange that it does it to be honest.
Just a bit irritating that's all. But nothing I can't live.
Loving the Beta at the moment, def a few bugs but then again it is a Beta!
Main one that gets me is that my equipment disappears after each match until I "re earn" it again
The rest are just little quirks!
Kev
loving it but there is 1 big game breaker for me ::
SQUADS - you NEED to be able to manage squads from ingame, its just broke at the moment and there are rumours they wont be adding squad mgmt.
i have issues with battlelog but i like the idea, it should be in-corporated into the ingame menus and not be a seperate
im loving the game on a whole, bit there are issues that need to be fixed. The whole squad thing make it feel like a console port, which is very dissappointing.
Agree with you Hodge! Also, the fact you can't adjust your key bindings, graphics settings etc out with the game has to change! I'm hoping you can do this with the full game!
Squads need to be a minimum of 6! bloody 4! come on! what year are we living in??
I like the battleblog but you should be able to do other things as I mentioned out with launching a match.
its crap, you end up spending the first 5 mins of a round dead, trying to get into the same squad as your mates in your voice party! then if your key binding aent right you need to set that up, fiddle with your gfx etc etc
DEFO feels like a console port at the moment, my issue is people are moaning about this on the forums and DICe/EA havent even responded, they keep pushing the community aspect of the game, but if they arent replying to VERY educated and constructive posts about possible improvements to the game and game breaking issues, you have got a community and will loose players!
Yup, I'm assuming that you will be able to do this in the full game. I joined a game with a few of my friends and we got in the same squad, as long as you create a party on battleblog and the host of the party joins the game. Otherwise its total pot luck.
The thing I keep reminding myself is that this is last months build. The beta has been ready since early September and red tape with the consoles delayed its release, so i'm holding onto that thought.
The battleblog is fantastic, no more wondering what perk is next etc, its clearly labelled and gives you nice information on what attachments do etc.
I don't think they will fix much with the beta, which is fine by me as long as the major issues are addressed for the full version release.
I still think there is more to come from dice, so far we know about Operation Metro and Caspian Border. I'm certain I saw that it will ship with 6maps, not including Back to Karkand Expansion Pack. Thing's like Battle recorder etc have still be be confirmed, personally I think it will be in the game, If you search on you tube their are epic montages of cod, would dice really want to miss out on some free advertising?
The Battlefield 3 open beta isn't just for fun and war games. EA has been listening to feedback from players and the Battlefield Blog now has a list of the most important fixes that will be in the game's final version (with a full list in the Battlelog news section):
- Fixed occasional client crash when reviving.
- Fixed killcam showing glitched area under map if your killer is dead.
- Issue with spawning on dead squad mates fixed.
- Fixed a bug where shooting at a moving enemy could cause more than the intended amount of damage.
- Crosshairs for shotguns have been replaced with a new, thinner, art.
- A subtle low health screen effect has been added.
- Tweaked scores of Medals and Service Stars.
- Tweaked the Rank progression.
- Pushing prone on console will not play the animation twice.
- Fixed loss of Squad Leader after EOR at some times.
- Framerate stability fixes.
- The 3D spotting icons has been tweaked to better match the target's visibility. Icons will show frequently less on mostly obscured targets.
- Fixed issue with crosshair disappearing after round transition.
- Fixed issue with crosshair disappearing after trying to deploy while the countdown timer still active.
- Squad list now shows specializations chosen, VOIP activity and dead squad mates.
- Non working options in squad menu fixed: "Private" flag and "Switch Teams."
